WHAT A YEAR FOR HOLLIE DOYLE!

2020 certainly won’t go down in my book as one of my favourite years, but for Hollie Doyle, it has been nothing short of spectacular.

Firstly, she has smashed her own record from 2019 with, at the time of writing, 135 winners so far in the calendar year, just two behind Tom Marquand her partner, and the other half of racing’s new power couple. My money is on Hollie to overtake him!

Then last week, Hollie won the Sunday Times prestigious Sportswoman of the Year award, presented to her by previous recipient Dame Jessica Ennis.

Along the way, 24-year-old Hollie won her first Group One race aboard Glen Shiel, in the British Champions Sprint, on Champions Day at Ascot last month.

Topping everything for me, was Hollie’s incredible performance back in August when she rode 5 winners in a meeting at Windsor at odds of 899/1. You can relive Hollie’s amazing strength in a finish by watching that achievement here

There are so many fantastic jockeys around on the flat and over jumps and it is brilliant to see this diminutive young lady rightly recognised nationally for her terrific achievements.

Could Hollie be champion jockey next year? You wouldn’t bet against her!
